New avic-z110 doesnt fit with dd kit???? HELP

Just got in all my car audio stuff in. The new avic-z110 from pioneer doesnt not fit in the opening of the jdm dd dash kit. The opening is too big and i get a big gaping area under the radio and small gaps on top and sides. I had assumed that all DD were roughly the same size in construction just differ in screen size. Guess i was wrong. I dont know why i never realized it but i didnt know that pioneer does not include trim rings with their head units. Paying $900 for a headunit and the dang thing doesnt come with a trim ring is just a major disappointment. I dont live near many audio places, in fact there is only one here and i have no idea if they are open tomorrow. I could order one offline but is schosche an ok brand to buy or should i just fabricate one myself? Thanks

Call Pioneer, did you check the contents of the kit in the manual? I got the x920bt and it came with the ring.

Yeah i checked. Someone else on the forum i had seen said it didnt come with one. Im so bummed that i dont have one. Its a refurbished unit by pioneer but includes all accessories. I just cant believe such an expensive unit doesnt come with something so simple.

I got the scosche trim ring too but I didn't like it that much, I'm trying to find somewhere I can order the metra trim ring that originally came with the metra kit. If you do the scosche I suggest you take your time and be patience, sand little by little until u get the perfect fit, that what I should've done lol, I might just order another scosche again

Go to Best Buy or any audio shop and ask if they have any DD trim rings laying around. They usually do and will prob give you one for free. I don't think there is a trim ring that will provide a perfect fit without having to shave the edges down.

Motorized faces are always a little more tricky to trim properly. I'm planning to document my trim install when I've finished moving and have access to my tools again.
