Question JL Audio StealthBox Alternative

Does anyone have an alternative to the JL Audio StealthBox? I do not want to lose any trunk space and this box meets that criteria very well. However, any suggestions or alternatives would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Without mnore info on what's acceptable or what you're looking for it's tough to say what will work for you, but there are other options... Keep an eye out on the marketplace for the 4080 enclosures (don't know if they're being sold anymore new), take a look at the zenclosures for the G35, or if you really don't want to lose ANY trunk space - replace your spare tire and tools with a custom false floor to build the subs/amps into and carry some Fix-a-flat or a AAA card.

Take a look around this forum some, scroll the old pages and stuff, you'll get some ideas from what other folks have done and maybe come up with some new ones that'll work for you. It's possible to do it without losing any usable space but you'll have to sacrifice something (ie spare tire) and pay a good amount or spend a lot of time laying your own fiberglass.

Thanks guys.

@Lek - I did look into the 4080 enclosures but they are only for Sedan's. I actually have a 2004 G35 Coupe which I probably should have mentioned in my original post. I do like the concept of the 4080 though.

The ultimate stealth that I have found at this time is the JL Audio Stealth. It is capable of maintaining the spare tire and I lose zero storage space. This comes with a 10W1v2-4 sub and I will push it with a Punch 550. I'm not looking to blow my ear drums but want clean crisp bass and music. You can find the Stealth at this site: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_s...hp?fit_id=1515

At this point I am changing my dash to a Double Din setup and am leaning towards the Kenwood DDX616 model. It is either that one or the Pioneer 4200 but not sure just yet. What's nice about Kenwood is that Bluetooth is built into the receiver. Care to weigh in your opinion on these models?

Even with the included sub? It would end up being $500 after some discounts. Do you think this box setup can be duplicated?

Nope

W1 is a joke of a sub. Would be better if it was a w3. Ever considered getting a custom fit box? The zen enclosure itself would've been perfect if it didn't seal off the trunk from the cabin.

This looks ok.

Who told you this?

Thank me later. I have a 4080, minimal space lost with it. Search for 4080 here, you might luck out and find one in the classifieds for cheap.

the stealh box will not provide a lot of bass..I have a 12 w6 in a fiber glass enclosure mounted in the corner on the passenger side..it fits w/ the spare..but I have removed that as I have two amps and nitrous..but w/ the false floor I only lost a little in the corner of the truck..the 4080 or the custom fiberglass box is the way to go man. I spent about 900 on the sub and enclosure.

With 900 bucks, you should have went IB in the rear deck.

900 was for the sub and the enclosure, and the enclosure is a custom fiberglass box molded to my trunk.

Thanks for the insight everyone. The reason I said that the 4080 was only for Sedan's is because on 4080Enclosures.com it states that the box is made for the Sedan. I will look further into this.

@got_boost99 - Are you saying that you have the coupe and the 4080 enclosure installed in your vehicle? Thanks man.

I really can lose a little trunk space just as long as I can still fold down my back seats. I am a pretty regular golfer and my bag just barely fits as it is. If I am capable of folding my seats then I'm totally game for any box in the corner.

@mconklin - I think you have talked me out of the stealth box. Looking for alternatives.

I would look into Infinite baffle through the rear deck. Some of the top competition installs use IB to get a flat response down to 20Hz

You'll keep 95% of your trunk space.

It looks like they aren't selling the coupe model anymore. However they can sometimes be found in our marketplace.
