No Satellite in old G35

I have a 2003 G35 sedan with no Aux or even a satellite button on my head unit. I was going to get the PAC AAI-NIS and hook it up to my iPod, but I can't.

Does anyone know if you can replace the factory head unit for a 2003 with one the has the satellite option or where I could get one? Thanks!

Re: No Satellite in old G35

If all you are looking for is an aux in ... the ALNS1 Alpine to Nissan CD changer interface will work. You will use the CD button to toggle between the aux source and the built in CD changer. The ALNS1 (like most other Soundgate interfaces) can also be used as an aux source even if you don't use the Alpine changer interface. There's someone else on this forum successfully using it on a 2003 sedan for this purpose.

Re: No Satellite in old G35

Thanks! I found that old thread now, but I have a follow up question. If you do have the old 2003 no SAT radio, is the 12 pin connector already in use for the CD or is it open?

I'm concerned that I won't be able to use my in-dash CD changer (I think someone mentioned the CD button will toggle between the two, but I'm not sure). Thanks!

The internal CD changer does not use that port. The radios support toggling between the CD and an external CD changer by hitting the CD button again. The display will change from "CD" to "CD CHNG1".

I'm trying to do the same thing in an old 2003 with no sat button. How do I find that old thread to get more info? Or can someone just let me know what I need to buy? And will the steering wheel controls work?

Thanks.

I am currently installing the ALNS1 unit with the ICELink iPod cable. I'm experiencing some alternator whine, but will be trying an alternate way to wire it (or ground it) in the next week or two. The steering wheel controls do work, but I don't know to what extent everything works together as I'm not finished just yet.

I'll post details when I'm done.

And djrobx is right on. It's the only plastic harness port in the back that's not being used. You won't lose your changer if you use the port.

I also saw the AUX-NISS by the same company that makes the ALNS1 unit. Is this one ok. It seems to have the rca connections included unlike the ALNS1 unit. I will be hooking up a non-ipod mp3 player thru the headphone jack if it matters.

I just installed one last weekend, works great. You can get the AAI-NIS from Pacific Accessory Corp (www.pac-audio.com)

AAI-NIS for 2003 G35?

I also saw the specs for the AAI-NIS from pac-audio. Did you install this in a G35 without sat-radio?
