Looking for the best bang for the Buck
Looking for the best bang for the Buck
Hey guys, so heres the story. I have a 04 Sedan with Non-Bose. I want to go with a complete new system that includes:
DD Navigation
complete upgrade of door speakers
and a single subwoofer
I dont need anything that's going to make all my windows bump, but I want a nice kick for me.
I want to keep a budget of around 1000-1500 Max.
I really like the JVC KW-NT3HDT
http://www.crutchfield.com/s_105NT3H...tp=20212&avf=N
I do like the fact that the faceplate is removable and such and the standard HD Radio and Bluetooth. I am not to sure how the loading time is, but I am not that picky. What I am really confused on is speaker selection and amp selection and sub selection... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated
Oh, and a side note, I will be getting the JDM DD kit from Riverside, I do not like the look and feel of the Metra Kit.
Thanks in advance guys for your input...

You'll get a better bang for buck with a pioneer unit.
For product selection
I'd get
Image dynamics ctx65cs

Crescendo 1000c4
http://www.crescendoaudio.com/produc...roductid=17516

One thing about the Sa is it shines in ported boxes only. It will not work in one of those corner pocket enclosures

Oh thank you so much!
I like the look of the Pioneer, and those components look real nice...
Is it pretty easy to do the install and wiring? with your experience of course!

Wiring is the easiest part
The hard part is taking everything apart to wire it up and tuning it. They're thousands of diy tutorials all over the net, though. You should be fine if you have half a brain lol

Yeah, cool...
Quick question, will that amp power the sub also?
and should I get 2 of those component speaker sets for the rear doors?

The amp is a 4 channel so you get 125 x 2 on ch 1 & 2 for the speakers and ch 3 & 4 are bridged to give you 500 x 1 for the sub.
Just one set of speakers will do. Rear speakers aren't needed. I'd ditch them. It'll allow you more ventilation to get the bass in the cabin.
Shoot me a pm when you purchase for box specs and where to purchase.

You're only limited by your budget. A $800 setup can sound as good as a $2k setup if you ignore the small things. That being said, buying used gear in good condition is great bang for the buck. Lots of reputable sellers on DIYmobileaudio, PhoenixPhorums, etc.
Make sure you squeeze in:
1. Big Three upgrade in engine bay
2. sound deadening in trunk/front doors
3. upgraded speaker wire - including a decent amp wiring kit (Kicker or KnuKonceptz are pretty good for the $$$)

Hey, I'm a bit late, but the new AVIC-X930BT from Pioneer has a removable face, navigation and bluetooth. The HD radio adapter needs to be purchased separately though.
You can right now, but it might be a few weeks before it gets sent.
If you do without the removable face, the X920BT is still a fantastic unit that you can pick up for under $700 on eBay fairly regularly - http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-AVIC-X920BT-Automotive-GPS-Receiver-/160542456705?pt=GPS_Devices&hash=item2561137b81 .
That, plus the $300 JDM kit leaves you with $500 for amp, wiring kit, and some quality components for the front doors. Ignore the rear doors.
