jl hd750 cut off on hard hitting songs

I wanted to know if anyone here who has a jl hd750 that cuts out on hard hitting bass songs. I am using the factory HU audio control LC6 and epicenter. The amp was sent back since is it one of the recalled 750.1. Red top optima batt less than a month old, any suggestion thanks in advanced.

Are you connected directly to the headunit, or are you tapping the audio signal after the bose amp? The bose amp cuts bass heavily.

If not, make sure you have very solid grounds and power connections (unpainted metal, and straight to the battery, respectively).

Bypass the amp and go from headunit straight to the audio control unit

ditch the epicenter too..those things do more harm than help.

Is the yellow LED light coming on when it cuts off, indicating low impedance?

In that case, wire the sub for 4 ohm instead of 1 ohm and you should be fine, assuming it's a dual voice coil sub.

If it's a single voice coil, well, you got a mismatched sub for that amp, or the sub is screwed.

The amp would(well should) go into protect right away if it's wired down to an ohm load it cant handle

According to JL the ohm load needs to be above 1.5 ohms. What sub is it?
