Love my Valentine, but it would be nice to have the Passport 9500's features.

I just bought the passport 9500ix.. the learning with the GPS is very cool as false alarms are almost non existent after a while. I just haven't had it go off for a legit copy with radar yet..

Obeying the laws and awareness of who's around you will save your azz more than a detector!

i had the valentine, the arrows were nice but unnecessary and the falses drove me nuts i was constantly muting it... otherwise an awesome detector. I've had the 9500ix for a year or so, its awesome to not have falses, gps features come in handy too. for example when you get hit with ka or whatever it flashes your speed so you dont have to glance at your speedo.(you can set it to display your speed constantly too, along with almost anything else you want it to do). make the switch its well worth it

I have had a Valentine 1 forever...I love it and it has more than paid for itself for all of the tickets it has saved me from.

The best is the redline paired with an SC55 (gps db). The nice thing about the combo is that below a certain speed you can silence the detector, completely eliminating the noise when you aren't over the limit anyway! The range of the redline is awesome.

Agreed....I got more tickets when I used a detector, now they just sit in a box..haven't used either Passport in 10 years now. I used to use one just when I wanted to find a local cop since I knew them all and would just BS from time to time but they were pointless when it came to state Troopers..if it would go off, you were busted. You are better off being aware of your surroundings and knowing just how much speed over the posted limit you can get away with. Some states are worse than others and a detector could be useful but for the most part it gets you comfortable with relying on it and that's when you are more easily gotten. Unless you are driving erratically and speeding enough to be considered a "big fish" you usually don't get messed with....at least in my state.

I agree with Gary. However, for road trips; I do use the Valentine V1 because I do speed on the long stretches to Vegas. =X

V1 picks up on super long distances, it corrects itself within a half second if it picked up on a wrong signal and is so freaking accurate.
