V1 Ka false alarms? satellite radio causing? help

Something weird started happening about 2 weeks ago. After I installed the V1 remote display and mounted my V1 unit below the rear view mirror, I started the car and the Ka alarm registered (to the back of the car). The signal stayed at 2 bars strength and was with me the whole way home (about 2 miles). Its been doing it now consistently every time I head home from the gym and has even started doing the false alarm thing when I leave the house. (Different routes, different starting points). The only common thing I can figure is the car. However, there have been about 2 or 3 trips where everything was normal (no false alarms). So it isn't even consistently doing it.

I've tried turning it off and on once the car is already started, but that doesn't remove it either.

One thing to add; I did install satellite radio the same weekend (ambitious weekend for me) and mounted the terk micro antenna right on top of the sedan subwoofer (and in the line of sight for the V1 rear sensor).

Could the satellite radio be causing the Ka band false alarm?

I tried to search, but it doesn't appear that the function is working.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Absolutely. I had the same problem briefly. A couple of weeks and then it disappeared. I tested my theory with a much longer cord and sure enough as I got closer to the antenna the signal got stronger. Go figure.

myG35ZX - how did you solve the problem long term? did you just move your antenna location? (is it off center, or off the direct path of the v1?).

I'm puzzled over this one. The police Ka band (33.4GHz-36GHz) is nowhere close to the XM Sat radio band (2.3325GHz-2.3450GHz).

It simply stopped. I did nothing. I have not changed the location of the V1. Andit has never reappeared. I called Valentine and they had no idea either. It lasted for a few weeks. In fact, it worked fine for the first week. The next week or so, during my trip back to Chicago from St Luis, is in it started. I had one or two led's all the way home. It was so damn annoying! I finally turned it off and drove the speed limit. Sure glad it stopped!

This is all very strange. Mine was also a week later after the install (recall, both satellite and V1). And over the last few days, I would say the frequency has reduced from "all the time" to less than 50% of the time.

I'm hoping I drop to 0% like myG35ZX!

Having seen the frequency ranges, I have no explanation either. That's why I've been so confused by this problem.
