Thoughts on the Kenwood KVT-715DVD
Hey guys what do u think of the kenwood kvt-715dvd? I have been researching for a while and have decided this is the best bang for the buck. You can get this dvd/monitor for $800-900. I love the look of this deck and I think it kinda matches the color scheme in my car (black/titanium). I am thinking about purchasing this within two weeks, so hit me up wit some feedback! thx

I had the 715 installed in my car for about a week before I had enough of it and had it taken out and then installed the Pioneer AVH-7500.
I bought the 715 because a friend of mine was telling me how good the 815 is in his friend's car - very responsive, good picture quality. I must admit I didn't do enough research on my own before getting the 715.
The things that annoyed me so much:
1) Poor "user interface". It's hard to toggle between selections/options - hard to see because there's always some picture or motion in the background that makes it look confusing, which IMO, makes this system look cheap. The 815 I believe does not behave the same way and has a much better user interface.
2) The opening/closing mechanism. Watching it close and open the screen is just painful. This might not bother you or certain people. It didn't bother me that much the 1st time I saw it, but after a while it got annoying.
3) Face plate is ugly/cheap compared to the 815. Again, I did not realize that it's got a different face plate from the 815. One of the reason I got rid of the 715 is because the face plate really didn't match my car's (BMW Z4) interior.
For anyone that currently has the 715, please don't feel offended by my remarks. Those were merely my own opinions and almost each one of them has to do with personal tastes. I'm, however, very picky about those small things. The system just didn't feel "right" in my car and I wasn't feeling comfortable with it, which is why I decided to get the AVH-7500.
