Yes ik the g35 had reversed terminals, but my very kind mom does not so she bought me a yellowtop d34 (regular post) battery from sams club. Im pretty sure u cant return it either seeing as though I probably had it for a month if that. Is there any way I can get it to work with the 04 coupe? Can I get battery post extenders or something. I really don't know what to do.

So long as you have the receipt, returning it shouldn't be a problem at all, the posts should still look completely fresh, so it should be obvious that it isn't "used".

look for a group 35 R

they make some batteries with reverse polatiry

I know they make a 35R and group 51R for hondas

 

Ik but the 35r only has like 625 cca while the 34 has 750. So in other words how can I extend the cars wires to reach when the d34 is flipped?

 

Did you replace your engine with a cummins diesel and you live in the north pole?
If not, 625 CCA is plenty.

 

I did actually no but seriously im running 1500 watts.... 500 of those being on a 4 channel A/B amp. So the more amps I could get the better

 

The ground shouldn't be a problem. The power wire will be simply based on the fact that for some reason there are several fuses right on the battery. All you'll be able to do is follow the power wire past all the fuses and cut it, extend it about 10" or so using the same size or bigger wire (which will be fun to splice) and then drop the new battery in.

Much, much easier to just get the right battery!

 

yea i already got it to fit and the car runs and starts no problem. The ground wire was about an inch too shot so I switched around the 2 screws holding it to the frame making it closer and I added a run of 0 gauge to it as well. What I did to make the positive side fit was I used a ring terminal with about 3 inches of 0 gauge attached. I took off the battery terminal from the set of fuses the car had come with and threw my new terminal on there and just extended it with the 3 inch piece of 0 guage. It was no problem and took me all of maybe just 1 hour. It looks clean as well. So ikt wasn't hard and I would have regretted getting the other battery, but thanks for all the hgelp guys and I will post pics with my build in a couple weeks.

 

#1, your stereo won't be running when the starts, so CCA of the battery is completely irrelevant.

#2, if you're draining your battery when running the stereo with the engine running, that little extra capacity in the battery won't get you far anyway.

#3, amps (cold cranking or otherwise) are not the energy storage unit of the battery, so even if your alternator wasn't keeping up, and you were drawing from the battery to keep the stereo (and everything else going) they wouldn't be the determining factor in how long you could go.

If you're worried about the draw from your audio system, upgrade the alternator, as having a slightly larger capacity isn't going to help you much at all.

 

Got pic? I'm thinking to change the terminal on my battery when I install my stereo because the battery I got the post are smaller then the OEM battery.
