Unknown Cable

Hello all, I'm a proud new owner of a 2006 G35 6MT. I'm in love with the car, but I'm wondering what this cable is that that is sticking out of my center console on the passenger side. I'm guessing it's some sort of ipod adapter but I'm not sure which one or if I wanted to, how to get a replacement cable to start using my ipod. The pictures are attached below. Please let me know. Thanks!

It looks like something that plugs into an iSimple ipod integration unit. Don't know why that end is sticking out though...

Sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but I have a question in the same vein...

I have that same cable with a male ipod connection at the end (I'm assuming this is standard with the Bose system), and I was wondering if anyone knows of a good adapter that would allow me to play my android phone? It would have to be female ipod --> android plug in, or female ipod --> 3.5mm male jack.

If anyone has something like this, how is the sound quality? Also, what type of input is the installed ipod cable connected to in the cars console? Would I be able to remove that factory cable and install something else?

No iPod was cable was standard with the Bose system. No Aux input of any kind is standard until you get to the v36 or v37 G's.

If you have an iPod cable coming from the radio, there's an adapter back there that it goes through. Check to see if that adapter has its own 3.5mm auxiliary input that you can plug your android phone or whatever else you want.

Well thanks or your responses I think I'll take it into a local specialty shop, they'll probably be able to figure it out.
