Lost my spare key and remote and found a guy selling a remote

If I buy this can I get it to work on my car and how?

He says I just need to transfer the chip from my old remote into this new remote and get the key cut anywhere.
Infiniti says my key has an electronic signature so this key+remote combo key won't work even if I get it cut.
Whats true... does anyone have any experience with these?

 

On the second one, I have/had that key... you can just move the transponder out of your current key its under the green tab at the front of your current key. I used some paper to kind of hold it in place. I changed back to my key/key fob separate because I didn't like all in one its to big and bulky looking when in the ignition, I also got it from ebay for 14$ (not sure how much the person is selling it). Infiniti cut the key for free, I tried lowes and homedepot they said they couldn't do it so I would suggest infiniti or a locksmith I guess.

When you say it was bulky, what would you say the size was? Maybe twice as big as the remote only in the first link?

 

Here are pictures for compare hope they help.. one of the other issues I had was the images fading from the fob but maybe that's the difference from the 60$ one to the 13$ I bought

 

nope the one he is selling looks EXACTLY the same as yours.
I'll check it out on ebay first.
Doesn't seem bulky for my use.
Is it much heavier?

not really much heaver of course now you have the metal key in the fob but it was fine,

 

Just got an oil change and asked if they could cut my key for free.
KMI said there will be a charge.
Then they questioned me about what kind of key etc
I told them it would be for a key remote combo.
They said it won't work for my 2005 because it doesn't have push start etc.
I think they don't understand that I don't want their Infiniti ikey intellegent key remote combo they sell for the push start cars.
What year is your car Mikesta?

 

Hey, sorry it took me a while to reply... I have a 2003 so no push button start,

 

In THAT case I'm gonna bite the bullet and get one off ebay :]
Hopefully the damn dealership doesn't charge too much to cut my key!
I searched on ebay for G35 remote combo and prices are about $40~70.
Is there a different phrase I should try searching for?

 

I had a look I can find them at the 10-15$ price but they have no insides! I think I got lucky when I bought mine, so you would have to buy the combo key and a key fob to make it work.. however when I was looking I seen some 'smart' keys for 40-60$ price,
