sound is very low after installing subs and amp

Hey guys I need some help. I just recently installed two 12s and a amp In my 03 g sedan keeping the factory headunit and amp it work great for a couple of day. But now the sound is pretty low the subs still work but it seems like my factory amp is blown or something.. sound still comes through but its not as loud as it used to be.. I used a stinger line output converter to plug my rcas into. And like I said it worked great for about 3 days but the other day it just all of a sudden got very quiet I have to turn it up to about 20 for it be as loud as it used to be at 10.. any help would be great thanks

Here's what I'd do to start:
Use the fade/balance setting on your head unit to select each speaker set and determine if any are completely non-functional vs. others being more or less where they should be.
If yes, examine the connections to those channels at the factory amp, your stinger, etc.
If no, and all speakers are affected, examine all the connections tracing the output signal back to your head unit.

If you are unable to find any problems with connections, I'd get out the volt meter and make sure your factory amp is functioning correctly.

The Bose system is not designed to run alongside different sound components. That's why most ppl just swap everything out when they do their systems. Something confusing abt amps and channels and overloads and stuff like that.

So I should swap the factory amp out for another amp to run the mids and highs? what about the headunit and speaker would that still be fine to run with the amps

What you really should do is delete the factory amp and replace with another. Whether you use it for sub, sub and components, or just components is up to you.

You will hear a major improvement in your sound quality by removing the factory amp. Even using a sub amp and then running kids and highs off your deck would be better than factory. Then replace your components later on.
