*Ground wire and power wire touching* how to prevent
Hey guys, I recently got a sundown audio sub installed in my car. I am using a 1200watt Hifonics Brutus amp and The install bay wiring kit. My ground wire and power cable are pretty close, I was just wondering if there is anyway of preventing them from touching such as using electrical tape and taping the ends off etc. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Ryan

Well, #1, don't ever work on those with the battery plugged in, so it doesn't matter if they touch during install.
If there's any exposed copper on the power cable after the install, shorten the exposed wire so that it's all tucked into any of the connectors you're using.
Also, if at all possible use heat-shrink tubing instead of electrical tape.

Got a picture? I would like to see specifically what your concern is.
It's OK for the power wire to touch the ground wire as long as both are insulated. The insulation should only be stripped back as far as absolutely needed to connect to the amp, and then all the exposed copper should securely connected to the amps terminals.
