Need signal for sub amp...which wires?

Just got my 05' and love it. Took out $4k of stereo from the "for sale" 02' Maxima and want to install one of the subs and amps to the factory Bose system. I found the thread showing the remote source, but nothing on which wire has a low level signal to input into the sub amp. I printed out a wiring diagram that shows inputs to the amp from the HU. I thought about tapping one channel for the signal source. The Sub does not seem to have its own signal source, but originates at the amp.

Anyone?

Thanks.

i dunno bout the '05.. but the 03 and 04, you gotta take a high level from the signal before it goes into the bose amp.

If your amp has high level inputs, use it. If not, sorry but you gotta buy a LOC.

Thanks. High level will work. I suppose I can just pull the signal to the rear amp for one speaker. Any ideas on which wires?

Coupe or Sedan?

Assuming the sedan since you mentioned sub output. The HU just sends 4 channels (FL,FR,RL,RR) to the Bose amp. The amp has an internal x-over to seperate the sub output. You could tap into the sub wires, but this will be a very high level.

Most people are eliminating teh Bose amp entirely, and powering all speaker with their own amps by cutting the wires going into the amp.

Thanks...I am stupid. That is the best way to go. I have a great Alpine 4-ch for that app. I pulled the wiring diagram off the DIY for the sedan w/ bose. I hope this is accurate for the 2005.

My Maxima required complete rewire to the doors. It was a bit#@. This sounds pretty straight forward.

Any tips?

oops I'm sorry I should have asked whether you had coupe or sedan.. I don't know if what I said earlier applies to the sedan.

I don't know why I assumed coupe.. guess I thought I saw you said coupe somewhere. Sorry.
