Alpine Power Pack Reviews?

Hey guys-

So last summer I did the DD swap and I'm loving the results...what I'd like to do now is replace my factory speakers. The guy at the stereo shop recommended this http://www.woofersetc.com/p-8323-ktp...ower-pack.aspx for some cheap power, along with replacing my front components and rear 2 channels.

Anyone have any experience with these? I like the idea that it's not going to create any additional wiring, it's inexpensive, and *hopefully* can add a little pop to my sound quality.

If not, anyone have any recommendations? I'm not planning on adding a sub, don't really do the big bass thing anymore, just want some nice, clean sound I can turn up on a good song and not have to worry if the speakers can keep up.

Thanks!

It wont do much

Distortion levels are high on that thing, and for 129, you can get a "real" amp.

You should also ditch the rear speakers. Upgrade your fronts and power them with a 2 channel amp.

Thanks for the input. I have been reading others saying just replace the fronts as well. Now dumb question- when you say "Ditch the rear speakers" does that mean completely cut them out, or just don't bother replacing them?

Also, any recommendations on an amp that won't break the bank? This is looking pretty solid for $180: http://www.woofersetc.com/p-6856-fd-...amplifier.aspx. Add an amp kit and you're well over what the power pack is going to cost, but you get what you pay for.

Yes, rid of them completely. Use all of your speaker money toward a pair of front components.

Best budget 2 channel amp is the ppi phantom

If u need something cheaper & don't mind used, these are hard to beat
