HI, im looking to do the hard wire install of the escort 8500 x50.. is there any way to just splice the 12v from the cord that comes with it or do you need to buy the Hard wire install ? IF so where can i pick one up? Right now i have it plugged into the cig lighter via the "adapter" it comes with.

Also i was reading some install guides via the Fuse method. ( where u just stick the wires into the fuse box.. i was just wondering what fuse to use?
