How do I hook a wire from my battery to an amp in my trunk?
I have a 2003 Infiniti g35 and I just bought subs and an amp for it. This may be easy but I just want to know how I run the wire from my battery to the trunk. I heard its easy and all you do is go through the glove compartment but I want someone to tell me before I mess it up.
Through the rubber by the battery box that goes through the firewall that Infiniti used for everything else, this drops the wire behind the glovebox. Take it behind the passenger kick panel and run it alongside the base of the frame under the carpet, then go either under the seats or through the side to get in the trunk.

Put all the panels back on and you can fit a fat 0 gauge that's invisible afterwards:

After you put a hole in the grommet make sure you seal it back up, otherwise water can run down the cowl, through the hole, and drip inside the car.
Also, since you seem new to this, make sure you fuse the power wire as close to the battery as possible - absolutely no further then 18" away from the battery (but the closer the better). This fuse will prevent your car from catching on fire if the power wire shorts. Also, make sure you have a nice, solid connection to the battery. Typically a ring connector is crimped or soldered on and then connected to the OEM bolt on the positive connector.
Installing an amp is "easy" for people who know how to do it and have done it several times before. It's a pretty decent project for someone who has never done it, especially if you don't have an experienced person there to help.
Also, before doing anything take a second to think about all the things that could possibly go wrong, and how you would get them fixed. If your "fix" involves a dealership or mechanic then you may want to consider paying a professional to install the amp as it may be cheaper in the long run!
