Question X-Box mod for '05 coupe

Hello Everyone,

I'm going to do the X-Box mod using the Navbox with the PAC AAI-NIS for audio. My question is: Does anyone know if there is any difference in the '05 wiring? I don't have the satellite radio option but the headunit I have has a button that reads 'PTY-CAT' and not 'SAT' .

Thanks!

yes the wiring is different for the 05. i took my G in to install a dvd player with my stock nav and they had problems. screen kept having wavey lines. installer tried everything. they used all sorts of stuff. they used the pac audio unit also. so far nothing has worked. if you find something that works, let us know.

Looking for an alternative to the PAC AAI-NIS audio interface

Looking for an alternative to the PAC AAI-NIS audio interface.OK...I found out that PTY/CAT button stands for PROGRAM TYPE and CATAGORY. This button is used to assign tags to FM radio stations. Since the PAC AAI-NIS audio interface uses the SAT button to choose auxillary inputs (the '05 coupe doesn't have a SAT button) I'll have to find another way to switch the audio input from the xbox.
I'd appreciate if anyone can help me with this.

If I remember right, our manual says "SAT/RADIO" button. Does that mean the "radio" button will have a aux input? Sheer hope on my part.

I just successfully installed the PAC AAI-NIS in my '05 Coupe w/ Bose and Nav. PAC said they haven't tested on an '05 yet with the new head unit. I told them I'd let them know if it worked which it does **phew**. I'm actually using it with the XM Roady2 and considering the Xbox install too. I use a modded Xbox at home and love it. On the '05 the Radio button switches from AM, FM1, FM2, S1, S2 and seems to work fine so far.

i was gonna give up on the pac idea and just add a switch on my aftermarket amp to switch between the xbox and car sound. but since pac works dont have to worry about that
how was the dash disassembly?

So you still haven't found a fix for it?
Did you use the Navbox? This is an important thread for me since I have the cash ready for a modded Xbox but this thing with the SAT button is killin me!!!!

So from a later stated post, if we press the radio button several times, we eventually get the SAT mode ergo the SAT wire harness?!
HELP!

I was on the phone with PAC this morning and they assured me that their unit WILL work on '05. The thing is that when I press the Radio button all I get is AM, FM1, FM2, and CD. I'm hoping that when I plug the PAC unit into the back of the radio then SAT1 and SAT2 will appear.

I am also concerned with line noise on the Nav Screen. Some '05 owner had this problem and the shop couldn't figure it out.

thats just your grounding, 04 ad 03 people have had the same problem, there were previous threads on it. i forgot but i think it was just a grounding issue.

I thought the poster said that is wasnt the grounding nor the power inverter that was being used. Though I still figured it had to be simple (and correctable) line noise.

Though this is an X-box thread, has anyone with an 05 accomplished this with a AV Electronic box?
