I planning on swapping my 2din China dvd gps player, for a Nexus 7 tablet.
The sound output has to come from the headphone connector on the tablet, and to be connected to the din contact or Bose amp somehow, or is it possible to connect wia the micro usb to something like the PA 15 - NIS adapter.

So if you guys have any idea how to do this wiring, please let me know.
Also feel free to come with inputs, etc

 

Do you guys think it will work to use the audio splitter on the link below, cut the female connectors, and solder the wires in to the audio wires that comes with the Metra Dash Kit package, wich is to be connected to the original Bose.

If you're keeping the Bose amp, use the PAC roem-nis2 connected to a 3.5mm jack. Just cut up an old pair of headphones for the 3.5mm jack. For power, you'll want a 12v to USB adapter that outputs 2,000 milliamps, rather than the more common 500 milliamp, otherwise with everything going on the tablet, it will drain the battery. You'll also want to find an extremely good anti glare screen protector, the nexus 7 (which I'm using now) is like a mirror, even without any direct sunlight that you'll see in the car.

I still believe you'll be better off just hooking the tablet or your smartphone to the aux input on the radio you have installed. At least then, your volume controls on the steering wheel will still work.

 

Steeringwheel controls was lost the day i installed my first 2din player, so i will not miss them.
We dont have much sun where i come from, but i will consider the antiglare protector film.
Do you have the usb cable permanently hooked up to the 12v, or are you able to connect to a pc if needed?

 

sounds like a good idea i have seen it before, u can do it by splicing the wires yes but theres another way which is good look around online and it should be there. and use the power method which wrath mentioned

I wouldn't mount it permanently.

Now that I think about it some more, I would get the dock once it comes out, so it uses the side connector pins, and a Bluetooth adapter attached to the roem-nis2. No need to plug anything, just set it on the dock for charging and let Bluetooth handled the audio.

 

i plan on doing something similar. Problem if you go PAC roem-nis2 connected to a 3.5mm jack, is that your essentially using the nexus 7 as your head unit and i doubt the built in amplifer for the 3.5mm jack is very powerful, especially if you plan on keep the stock bose system. If you had a aftermarket system, then you can probably get away with it.

So you'll need a equalizer similar to what the other guy in the other thread or using another head unit.

I thought it over and did the research. Its easier and you have more options if you get a cheap $100 pioneer or jvc deck with built in 3.5mm and bluetooth and route the sound through the head unit.

You can put the nexus 7 in the double din and just relocate the head unit.

This way you keep your radio, you have bluetooth for your nexus 7 audio via bluetooth and answer telephone calls and the benefits of having a tablet and a deck. So you get the best of both worlds.

Yeah, that's why I searched for the video on it. Interface speed seems equivalent to a decent tablet and the price is right. I still may just try and mount up my Nexus 7 somewhere that gives minimal glare.
