USA SPEC PA15-INFI Confusion

Hello everyone!

I have a 2003 infiniti g35 Coupe that does have a SAT button on the radio. I do not have Satellite radio working though because I am pretty sure there is nothing hooked up to it. I want to know how do I tell if I am prewired for the USA SPEC PA15-INFI unit. I was looking in the instructions for the unit and it says that I need to hook up a 16 pin connector to a SAT receiver. What is this receiver and where should I look to find it. I have no interest in listening to SAT radio. I just want to listen to my ipod.

I have read around and it seems like i should look near the amp in the trunk to see if I have any loose wires to show wether I'm prewired. Can someone post a picture or describe what I should look for in my trunk to know that I am able to use the PA15-INFI.

On Second though...Do I even need the sat receiver. I just need the prewired connection or the white pin that is just hanging loose correct? Where in the trunk should I find it?

Thank you everyone!

You just need the harness in the trunk, no adapter required but with an '03 I doubt you're pre-wired to have the harness in the trunk, so you'll probably just want to go with the PA15-NIS and install it to the harness at the back of the radio instead of the trunk.

I checked my trunk a couple days ago and I do have a 16 pin white connection thing near my amp. This should be good enough to get the infi version correct?

Thank you for your reply!

If you find the harness in the trunk, yes. The presence of a SAT button doesn't guarantee you're pre-wired. You're going to have to find that harness in the trunk when you try to install it anyway, so get looking.

Depends on what you mean by 'best'.

If best to you means under $200 and very basic control, sure, go with that.

To me, the best option is a good aftermarket unit that lets you control Pandora, locally stored MP3s or other audio sources, in addition to all the other great features an aftermarket headunit provides.
