Regardless, Tell Her To Buy On Ebay---there Is Some Great Deals On Awsome Speakers. Find A Reputable Seller To Get About Half Off What One Would Find At A Retail Store.

of those two, i wouldn't get either one. instead, i would go for hoo man diamond audio hex series. heard nothing but great word on them.

again, speaker is matter of personal preference. audition them but make sure you give other brand a try.

discosmo, of the 2 you listed its going to depend on the type of sound you like. The Quarts will be much brighter. I think the JLs will be smoother closer to neutral. And Like g35mt said Diamond Audio is a good choice too.

Both the JL and MB are great speakers. I prefer the sound of the JL Audio XR components. Either way, stay away from ebay, buy from an authorized dealer where you will get a warranty and support from someone who knows their product. Take care.

I got Q series MB Quarts on eBay (new) for a little over $300. They sound great. I have made over 100 seperate purchases on eBay, and no one has ever tried to screw me. If you get a new, high end component speaker set, I'm not too sure how important a warrantee is anyway. They will work fine 99.9% of the time out of the box, and if they don't, most eBay venders will allow you to return them. Buying JL or MB Quart from a legit dealer will add almost 50% to the price due to the stupid "No Internet Sales" policy these companies have. MB just broke down, and started selling their less expensive models at Crutchfield, but they seem to be close to list price.

Another great component set to consider is Focal.
