Key Fob Issues
Alright the other day my key fob stopped working, assumed it was the battery and replaced. No change, so then I tried programming it just in case that was the problem. Wouldn't program, could never get the second flash out of it to confirm programming. So I ordered a new fob, same issue. New battery in the new fob, go through the steps to program, get first flash of hazards, try to use fob to program and the car won't respond. Either the normal process does not work for my car, or there's some transmitter/receiver not working, or some fuse blown that I couldn't find(checked all fuses individually). Has anyone had a similar issue with not being able to get the second flash confirming programming? I have also checked my new fob to make sure it is the correct one. I'm at a loss now, all my searches are coming up empty for this issue. Hopefully someone out there has the answer.
Brought it in to the dealer and they said it was either the BCM or the wireless receiver (if there even is one) they didn't want to spill the beans. Said the fobs were both functional but the BCM was never receiving their signal. So it's a guess at this point on which part to change first.
hmmm, i wonder what the cost of the bcm will be, i'm sure itll be high from the dealer, mine seems to work when it wants, but mostly it doesnt. like you i changed batteries and even used the fob tester thing at autozone, says its working but usually doesnt
oh that's not too bad, I understand not wanting to spend on the wrong part though, if you figure it out, let me know, ill look into it as well, maybe I can find one at the junkyard and try it out , see if it fixes the problem
