changing out screen in factory nav

I dont have a lot of knowledge about electronics so please dun flame if Im just being stupid. But I was wondering if it was possible to change out the actual factory nav screen and use a screen with better resolution, ie xenarc liliput blah blah. Like change out the screen and hardwire the display/voice to one of the outputs on the aftermarket screen. While also keeping the controls of the nav. I mean isnt it possible to make the display and everything converted into a normal a/v input? Thanks for all the help and please take it easy on me.

Its possible, the biggest problem would be you would need to figure out how to convert the RGB output of the nav system to a VGA connector and hope the sync works with your new screen. This may prove to be just as hard as converting the stock screen to accept VGA input. It would be easier and probably cheaper to just swap out your headunit for a second screen and leave the NAV system intact.
