Power cable for AMP

Hey ya, just wanted to ask how you ran the power cable from the battery to the amp in your trunk. I got my stuff but need to install it. Thanks.

There's a grommet behind the battery cover. This one is easier to get thru than the one mentioned in the double-din conversion guide.

Sorry doc,

I remembered after I posted that the amps & wiring were in a different DIY. I printed out a bunch of DIY's at the same time when I did the conversion, so they were all mixed up in my head. Your's was right on the money

Yeah, it the passenger side. Wires come straight down into the cabin. Very easy!!!

On my car, rather than punch a hole, I unwrapped all the goopy tape and inserted the amp wire in the rubber sleeve. There was no need to damage the weather seal or grommet. A bit messy, but this is a spot that needs to be well sealed to prevent leaks in heavy rains. Given that you've already cut the grommet, you might want to add some silicon RTV to the cut point to make sure you don't get a leak.
