Poor FM radio reception after aftermarket HU install?

Before going any further, I would like to say that I am aware that there are a few threads that try to address this. This situation is a little different however. After installing the HU in my 03 coupe, I couldn't get an FM stations. Not a single one, just static. So I found on here through another thread that the aftermarket HU must have the power antenna wire hooked up for the radio to function properly. After hooking it up, I can now get alot of stations, which is good news! The bad news is there is still occasional static, the sound quality is far less than par. So, what should I do from here? Could it be that the power antenna wire is not getting enough power, and perhaps it needs a better connection? Could it be that I have a power wire running next to the antenna adapter at the back of HU causing interference? Any ideas guys? Thanks!

The power antenna signal wire isn't enough power for the antenna amp.
