Possible to add OEM 2006 Bluetooth to 2005?

I know the 06s came with bluetooth and was wondering if anyone has tried adding the parts to a 2005? If the the mic:

and steering wheel:

are added would this be enough? Are any other parts needed? Do the 05s even have the wiring harness for this to work? Thanks!

According to the FSM seen here:
http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/G35/Seda...5_Sedan/av.pdf

I would need the Antenna, Microphone, Adapter, and Steering Wheel Controls. All of which pop up on eBay. Downside is it looks like to get the OEM microphone installed I would have to do some cutting to the factory headliner as the 2006 appears to have the microphone installed in front of the center roof lights/sunroof controls. Also I'm not even sure if the 2005 has any of the required harness connections that would be needed....

Unlike the satellite radio harness and wiring, there's only a harness and wiring for bluetooth in vehicles that came from the factory with it, and that harness is the same one that plugs into everything behind the entire dash as well, since they didn't split them up (as people who have considered trying to add factory nav have seen).

So you'd have an even bigger harness than this to replace:

This much of the dash needs to be removed to swap out that harness, PLUS you'll need to remove all the trim to get the rest of the wiring to get to the trunk:

But, on the plus side, as far as I know, you'd be the first to do it.

You really don't want it. It sucks.

In order to use it, windows need to be up. No HVAC on (hard to do when it's 90 degrees outside or 10 degrees out) and you need to speak clearly and aim torwards the microphone when you talk. Whomever called me complained about echos or muffled sounds.

With all that, I still struggle through calls to the point I stopped using it.

Back around 2007/2008 there was a few threads on this where guys were having dealers swap out the microphones and looking into aftermarket systems. The conclusion was the OEM bluetooth was just not a good setup, and most guys stopped using it.

The system in my '13 M-B is WAY better and you can use it with windows down (not on highway) or with the radio slightly on even and its crystal clear for my caller.

My opinion is swapping in the OEM system would not be worth it. Look into aftermarket radios or even GPS units that have it instead

Don't waste your time, the OEM Bluetooth is awful. Any aftermarket BT will be better. OEM Bluetooth was a premature, rushed, last minute decision added to the '06s. The audio even comes out the passenger door speaker because it was made for the right hand drive Skyline in Japan lol.

I always wondered about the audio thing haha. I would just use an ear mount bud.

Forgot about that fact. Yes, all audio outputs from the car come from the passenger side door speaker. Bluetooth, and Navigation.

Using the navi on the highway with windows down sucks because you really can't hear the commands coming from the opposite door.

This project is way more trouble than it's worth. I also beleive there could be some wiring differences between the 05 and 06 that could pop up and make this tricky. For example, the 06 sat harness is NOT behind the rear seat like the 03-05 sedans. For 2006 only, it's under the rear deck on the passenger side. Why? No idea.

Plus it doesn't even stream music does it? As far as I'm concerned the ability to take calls is secondary. Gotta have that media stream.

Correct. No bluetooth streaming audio.

Haha. Nope. It's primitive bluetooth.
