How to: 12v outlet in the trunk.

I need to put a 12v outlet in the trunk of the coupe.
Can anyone tell me which wires it'd be best to splice it in.

I figured you audio guys know best trunk wiring and where can I put it in .

Should be yellow with red stripe in the 8 pin bose harness. Pin 1. Make sure you install a relay and fuse to isolate your new 12v

Check the wire gauge before trying to run anything big off the existing wiring.

I would just tap a new line off the fuse box in the footwell and run it back to trunk. Fuse for like 15amp.

I need to run iceless cooler in the trunk for a long period of time (entire day, every day for a month)

So will the bose wire handle that or should I actually run it from the fuse box?

What's the power draw of the cooler?

There's the 16-pin satellite radio receiver harness if you're running low-power devices. The +12v accessory wire for it is light green, constant power is the yellow one.

The accessory power shares a 10A fuse with the rest of the radio system, while the constant power shares a 15A fuse with the radio system.

If that's the case. 10 gauge to battery with inline fuse.

Some sources say about 5 amps, so with that draw combined with the radio, you're probably going to blow the fuse using the satellite connector or anything else sharing the fuse with the radio.

Run your own wire from the battery with a 10A fuse.

The 5 amp drain will be killing your battery overnight, so unless you're plugging the cooler into AC at night, you're going to be putting some pain on the electrical system.

Yes, the cooler will not be running overnight. Only during the day when car is running.
