I have a 2003 G35 sedan with no SAT button. After a suggestion on this forum and much research(found someone who installed it with no SAT button) I found a used PA11-NIS on ebay. I tried to install it but got nothing. In fact, the IPOD screen says something like "charging not supported by the device", so it seems like there's not even power going to the IPOD when it's connected to the PA11. The wiring harness that came with the PA11 looks to me like it may have been altered. Can't tell for sure since I have no idea what they're supposed to look like. Here is a pic. Notice what appears to be a black "splice" in one of the connections. Can anyone tell me if this cable could be the problem?

Well, a couple things, #1, is the sat early 03s are not compatible with any of the standard adapters, I don't know if this is your case. #2, the plug looks modified, but it looks like whoever did it knew what they were doing. #3, that adapter has been obsolete for some time now, the manual I found was last revised in 2007, and has this to say about compatibility: "The PA11-NIS interface is compatible with iPod (G3, G4, G5) iPod Mini, Nano, Photo, Video models
featuring a dock connector. "

So, best advice - if you're trying to run modern hardware is to run modern adapters.
