...with a little surgery

1. the cross on the 03/04 finisher must be cut off and the circle should be enlarged. next, both holes should be made into one by cutting off the piece between them.

2. the housing on the sides of the 05 A/C controller that screws onto the finisher should be cut off. somehow, the 05 A/C controller should be securely fastened to the 03/04 finisher.

3. the plug for both 03/04 and 05 A/C controllers are similar!

 

With nav would this not be an more simple install? Could we not just take the finisher from the 05 and install it into the 04? How did u securely fasten those pieces. Any attempt to switch the entire finisher all teh way down to the shifter surround?

 

But just remember, though, that the side panels that border the left and right side of the 05 dash are different than the 03-04 models. They are separate pieces in the 05 unlike one big dash finisher piece in the 03-04 models. These pieces will need to be purchased from your local Infiniti dealership.

Kia...take pix of the sides of the 05 dash finisher and if you can, take pictures of those side panels off your 05 both attached and detached. They run from the navi cubby to the shifter on either side of the DIN space.

Also, if you convert the DD finisher with the 05 model, you will need to also swap out the center console piece surrounding the shifter since that piece is aluminum too.....it doesn't seem as easy as it sounds.......

possibly... lets see if my insurance insures my new headunit first.

wen i totalled my 04, i didnt insure the AVN so i had to salvage it and put back the stock headunit in, thank God i didnt sell it!...
