Radio issues

I've had radio issues in my 05 g35x for about a year now. Sometimes you start the car and it works (mostly on cold days) and then you turn off the car and nothing on the next try. I'd say it only works once a week in a 5 day work week at this point. Got a used Bose amp and swapped it and still nothing.

What do I check next or do I replace the head unit?

I think this is the ribbon cable issue on the back of the stereo.

Is it a better idea to just start the replacement process and put a DD in?

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Not only yes but hell yes. Our radios are terrible and most will fail over time. Fix it and guess what, it'll most likely fail again. And this doesn't even address the horrible sound they produce when they're working correctly. One of, if not the best, mod you can do on the G.

Is the Metra 95-7605 below still the best option? Also, does anyone have any good experiences with a branded Android Auto double din or any of the non-branded android OS DD radios?

No, it's not the best. JDM is. See the DDin shopping list for sources.

The android DDin radios are hit or miss, you're better off saving up and getting an android auto headunit.
