Stock Bose sub and amp. Is my amp likely blown?

Hey guys,
I have had my G for a little over a year with it's stock bose system still intact. I have not been alright with the sound but I would like some improvement. My sub is not making any sound and it hasnt worked since I owned it. There are rare times where it seems like it's on for short durations because the bass gets louder but this could be my imagination. My question is, does anyone know if the amp or sub is likely the broken component, is it a common problem and what could I do to check and fix the issue. There's not a lot of specific info on the stock sub for our cars so any info is appreciated.
