white noise after installing EQ
white noise after installing EQ
So here goes my first post on the forum
Recently installed Clarion EQS755 7band equalizer to my audio system, and white noise has appeared...
Only BOSE head unit is left stock (to keep OEM look), the rest is aftermarket: new RCA's, new amps, new speakers and subs, new speaker wires. To connect EQ I've spliced into head unit wires (remote and power), grounded to the bracket near the clock - ground is good too, checked with multimeter against front seat bolt on the floor, gave me 0.4 ohms
I don't blame BOSE head unit for this, because if I unplug input to EQ - white noise remains. If i bypass EQ by plugging RCA's to another source (my phone-->rca-->amp) - no white noise, so RCA's are OK too.
No change in sound with the engine running or not either.
So the thing which gives white noise is Clarion EQ??? also its no difference is it on full volume or absolutely zero - white noise is the same. WTF???

Telcoman
tried lots of things today with no luck at all.
tried to ground AMP and EQ to a new location (bare metal too), tried to ground them both to a single/same location, tried to run a different pair or RCAs - no luck...
maybe it's really defective... any other ideas before I gave up?
