cool....

1. do you notice any disc skip with the 45 degree mount or not so much?
2. did you have to cut your metal bracket and if so, how did you anchor the HVAC unit back up on the screw below the clock? (I guess you wouldn't have to reanchor up the there since there are those 2 screws under the HVAC unit above the ashtray.)
3. without doing a search (b/c I'm lazy...lol), does the AVH unit have an external "brain" unit that you have to mount separately? If so, where did you mount that?

again, good job, gives others hope to keep their stock look while having an aftermarket navi or DVD stealth.

From reading your questions it sounds like you've taken you dash apart a few times...you seem to know the setup like the back of your hand...lol

1. No disk skip at all

2. Yes, I cut the metal bracket but kept the upper metal bracker that screws into the area just below the clock

3. No, there is no separate brain for the AVH...but the AVIC 80 Navigation unit is separate. The onscreen appearance is the same as the Avic N1...with touchscreen etc. The AVIC 80 navi is installed in my trunk

Yes, I did it myself...I gave credit to a shop that let me use their equipment but I did all the work myself...it was hard only because nothing was really planned out...I figured out things as I went along. Took 3 days to install my entire system including 2 rockford amps, two rockford 10" woofers etc. I could prob do the cubby install in a day now that I know what's what...I plan to put together step by step instructions soon

MorenoEnNYC, can you show us a pic of how the back looks like? I am interest in how you remove the cd-changer but kept the tape deck to connect the climate controller.
