Navigation Question

I wanted to know if i replace my stock dvd navigation player with an aftermarket let's say Pioneer DVD changer, will I be able to play DVDs as well as still have my navigation CD work? Does all the info on my navi run off the cd or is the cd only used for maps? Thanks!

Re: Navigation Question

You will need to add a home DVD. A DVD changer made for a car will not work, since it dosen't have DVD controls or RCA connecters. I'm putting an Xbox in. All you need is an A/V switcher.

Re: Navigation Question

I'm not qualified to give you the long answer, but the short answer is that you can't just swap out the dvd player and get both Nav and DVD playing capability. Everyone I've heard of so far who has managed to put DVDs on their screen has had to hack into the connection between the Nav player and the screen and add a second DVD player. A swap being much easier, I'm sure they would have done that instead if it was possible.
