what kinda wire taps?

For those who have tapped into the bose harnass at the back for their line-out converters, what kind of wire taps have you used? Any differences in signal quality?

I just picked up a handful of these 22-18awg wire taps from Home Depot. They have plastic covers, and use a U-shaped (maybe a little V-shaped) blade to cut past the insulation on the wire and grip the conductor. They hold the 2 spliced wires in parallel.

I know, a picture of these wire taps I bought would help right now, but if you have pics of what you used, feel free to post Thanks,

Don't use the home depot stuff.
Get automotive wire taps.

thanks for the tip. I had the T-taps you're referring to in my old car. They seemed to work fine. The HomeDepot ones I bought actually look like the 6126R and 6127B, on that same page. In principle, the connectors look the same... what do you think of those?

o, and do you know the exact wire guage of the wires connected to the Bose amp? They look something like 18awg or smaller, to me, but I don't think it was labelled anywhere...
