XM Antenna inside.. best location?

I have it currently right above the bose (close to the middle of the seats even) to get decent signal, but there's alot of cutout when I'm by a tree or something, is there a particular location that works well?

How did you route the antenna wires from the dash all the way back to the trunk? are the wires that long?

Update: I ended up moving my antenna to my trunk, and now I get ZERO dropouts

I had mine on my dash but it moved around to much. I ended up mounting it o n the trunk closest to the rear window in the middle. I ran the cable along the center counsol and tucked it along one of the rear seats then dropped the rear seat and routed it under the mat to the trunk. Only exposed cable is on the hump of the back seat floor which is only a foot of exposure. I have a couple of vehicles so this is an easy solution if I go on a road trip and want to yank it out quickly and put it in my truck. It took 2 minutes to route.
