High End Audio Install for all those audiophiles

Hello all,

Been watching this forum for a couple of months now...lots of nice people with tons of good info to share. Thought I would share my system upgrade for all those sound lovers out there. -especially G35audioman...love the pics of your custom install in your G35. Those pics actually convinced me to throw out that spare tire and get everything installed under the trunk bed for the cleanest install possible.

The G is going in for surgery on Sat and should be out a week from then. Its a black on black G35 Coupe.

Here is what's going in:
Alpine IVA-D901
Alpine NVE-N852A
Alpine CHA-S634

Zapco Ref1000.4
Zapco Ref750.2

2 sets of DLS Iridiums 6.5

1 Image Dynamics IDMAX12 subwoofer

1 Alumapro 15 Farad C.A.P

1 Optima Yellow Top battery D34/78

Dynamat Xtreme 10435 Door Kit 12 Square Feet
Dynamat Xtreme 10455 Bulk Kit 36 Square Feet

JDM Double Din Dash Kit
JDM Dash Pocket

Stinger 0 Gauge Blue / Silver Amplifier Wiring Kit 3400 Watts
1 Stinger HPM Positive Battery Terminal
1 Stinger HPM Positive Negative Terminal
2 Stinger 0 Gauge HPM Pro Ring Terminal
15 feet Stinger HPM 0 Gauge Clear Power Wire
8 feet Stinger HPM 4 Gauge Blue Power Wire (positive)
8 feet Stinger HPM 4 Gauge Clear Power Wire (negative)
2 rolls of 40 feet each Stinger 12 Gauge Blue/Silver Twisted Speaker Wire

1 Black Box R2 for bypassing Alpine Video screen and Navigation

1 PAC SWI Steering Wheel Interface

Viper 791XV Alarm with options:
- 530T Window Automation System
- 508D Proximity Sensor/Field Disturbance Sensor
- 506T Glass Break Sensor
- 520T Backup Battery System
- 567T 7' Length Mechanical Hood lock with Start Kill & Relay
- 522T Electric Trunk Release Solenoid
- 620V EL Armed Indicator LED

We'll have to see if they cars electrical system can handle the load..if not we might be upgrading the alternator soon. Also will probably be adding a Alpine PXA-H701 soon as well to complete the set-up.

Let me know what you guys think.

To GedOut: Yes I do have the AC controller. And that is enough dynamat to get the entire car done once over.

To fxg35: thanks. Question: How much did having the H701 really improve the fidelity of your system?

Thanks guys.

Hey man! Glad my system was inspiration for you!

Are you going to be adding a second battery? I needed to with this system. I also have a cap in addition to that.

Thing is, I did NOT change the stock battery. There was no need to. My alternator is still stock as well.

I've had the system now for over a year. Even with competitions and what not, the car hasn't died on me once. Just keep that in mind. Also, you might want to look into a battery such as an Interstate RV battery as opposed to the Optima. I have found those to be stronger and more durable over time.

I can't wait to see your setup though. It definitely sounds impressive! If you are in So. Cal, we should meet up sometime so I can check that out in person.

install time has been extended

sorry fellas, been away for a few days.

Unfortunately the G is still in the operating room. I'm being told now that it will probably not be ready to go until mid next week. Seems like all the options on the Viper alarm has added some extra work. ( A lot of extra work)

Beowulf: Total cost with intsall is $17K+

G35audioman: I'm in sunny San Diego. Let me know if you're even in Diego and we could meet up. I'll try to take some pics and upload them once the car is completely done. Thanks for the info on the battery setup with your G. Since I've already purchased the Optima we'll how to see how thatgoes.

wow. 17K is very very steep. Are you going to be competing?

In comparison I spent about 8k with install on my setup...

yeah 17K is hefty but I truly love music and the systems that create it No desire to compete...and to be honest with you I dont even play my music that loud..at least not in the "typical" sense where you can hear the car coming 3 blocks down. The system as one can see is purely an SQ system but I love the EXTRA dyanmic headroom to play with. Basically its like this.....I don't necessarily bang the system...but when I want the power Its THERE! ;-)

...most of that price tag went on the components - the alpine head unit, navi, zapcos and iridiums were quite expensive when getting them from legit sources. Did not want to deal with the hassle of buying something and not being able to turn it in if the unit failed for whatever reason. This install was costly - etimated costs so far are about $3000 - $3500.

8K for all your high end components and that install of yours was a phenomenal deal!! DId you get a package price?
