Steering wheel Audio controls

Just ordered my G, wanted to know if anyone knows if the steering wheel audio controls will work with an aftermarket deck. I am looking at the Eclipse AVN5435? Also is there any where other than Japan you can get the double din kit?

Thanks rbrigan

...u need the pac adapter to interface with the steer wheel controls

...so far j's garage is where you're going to get the double din from, unless you know someone in japan that can swing by a nissan dealer and ship you the parts....

Go to http://www.pac-audio.com/ and look for the SWI-X (i think).
It will let you use the wheel controls but the unit you're trying to control has to have an IR Remote input. I've heard it is slow to send the signals.

Thats exactly what I wanted to see Grider, thanks for the pics. Do you use the swi-x for your steering wheel controls? I just want to get a feel for if they work ok or if I am wasting my time

no they work BUT theres a 0.5 second lag, thats normal... kind of annoying, but you get used to it. its better than not having it at all...

Grider, I just love your install man, very very clean.

I didn't know it was possible to retain the steering wheel controls with an aftermarket deck, looks like I'll be doing this when I take delivery. PM me with any additional info to do this, if you ever have time. I need to read up on that Eclipse Deck as well to see everything it has to offer. Again, looks very clean.

Thanks everyone for all your help. Grider, where did you mount your swi-x ir controller? also does anyone know if the eclipse head units backlighting can be changed or what color it comes in from stock. I am hoping to have something close to the amber color in the car?

Let me know
