Aftermarket Audio Systems and Faceplates

Does anyone know of any aftermarket cd/mp3 players you can put in the G35 Sedan console instead of the one that comes stock?

Since the audio system is a pretty non-standard looking system, would you have to jump through hoops to get an accomodating dash slot for a new system, say like the one that's currently at woot.com?

If you think im an absolute retard, i know already, but I would appreciate some tips.

Thanks!

Well...the problem isnt really the face plate, its what's behind it , the stock AC and radio's control are on same IC board and then connect to cd radio behind the face plate.

If you are put new HU in stock loaction? you will need an double din kit, you can get those from j's garage.....yosi@j-garage.com, email him and ask him about them. or you can read more about it here....D/D conversion

You can also install new HU in that cubby hole on top of the dash, but it need an major labor cost(1000~ish, well maybe less now.)

Thanks, that really helps out quite a bit and gives me a good start. I would have thought by now, some companies would have started specializing in creating head units and accompanying sound systems which play mp3 and cd for the G sedan and would be fairly easy to google.

Appreciate the tip, I can fix a puter, find fraud, and defend myself in court but I dont know a thing when it comes to customization of a vehicle. If any one owns a public company, I'll trade you my services for making my G-baby a little happier.

uteric-its a somewhat expensive piece to buy (AC controller + finisher) but the end results are truly something to marvel at

holy crap that looks complicated! you have to dismantle the HVAC system and do some soldering? That looks worse than the time I modded out my playstation

I think i'll opt for a ghetto Dell DJ and car kit now.
