Anyone know how and where i can upgrade my dvd navigation rom to read dvd movies. I'm tired of explaining to my friends that no it does not play dvd movies. If anyone knows please help.

 

No, the stock DVD rom will NOT play DVDs. Just tell your friends to buy you an aftermarket dvd player then!

 

I saw a site that had instructions on how to do it, as well as the electrical parts and materials required. But I can't find it now. (There may be a link to it on this forum somewhere, but I couldn't find that either.)

I don't have the nav system, but looked at the instructions briefly a while back. It was NOT easy, and required ALOT of modification and parts. Seemed like you would just be using the nav system as a display screen and still have to link into it from a seperately installed DVD player.

Bottom line: looked like it would be FAR easier just to replace the existing system with a new one that plays DVDs.

Ultimately, this is why I opted to skip the Nav option.
