Depending on how you do it, it can be pretty simple. There is plenty of wiring to do, but it's not terribly difficult. It might seem somewhat intimidating if you're not comfortable with wiring, but as long as you take your time and stay organized, it will be fairly simple. Some planning ahead does help as well. Depending on where you mount the components, you may need additional wires to extend the wires as needed. The time consuming portion for me was getting to the wiring behind the radio and Nav drive as it requires a lot of dash disassembly. Took me most of a day(albeit in a lazy manner) to get the PAC-NIS and wiring to the NAV screen complete. Though, I did spend time trying to see if I can wire the PAC-NIS near the amp rather than behind the dash. I also ran the wiring for the inverter from the battery to the inverter. I'd say even for a novice, with good planning, and staying focused on the task, you could complete the install in a weekend. I actually spent about a day at the front of the car, but spread out the rest of the install between several days spending only a couple hours at most each time. And much of this was troubleshooting my inverter. My install would take longer as I had to design and build the mount as well. The SWI-X also took some additioinal time as I had to run the LED into the trunk lid. But mine wasn't really on issue of being more complicated, just a matter of requiring more labor.
