First, where are you drawing power for the xbox? Are you getting it from the 12v or the battery? Do you have an inventer? Are you sure its filtered. You have to make sure the power from the bat/12v is filtered otherwise you will get noise.

takinover, tell me what kinda circuit you made. Did you use an IC? I think the xbox sends the sync with the Green line (if you get the component out wires). If you get the SCART solution, it should split everything up according to this:

http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/xbox.htm

Also, for pioneer gex 7000, you have to follow this step to sync:

5.Once you determine the correct length, solder the RGB wires from the GEX "Green" and "Red" Connectors. "Green" going to the Display and "Red" going to the NAV. The bare wires from both will be connected to the bare shielding around the Green and the Red connectors. This is important or else you will get interference.

7. Now is the scary part. YOu can either cut the pink sync wire from the back of the Display unit or the back of the Nav Unit. Display area is much easier to work with. Make sure to leave good lengths on both ends. Now you essential have two sync pink wires.

8. Using the one spool of Single shield audio wire from Radio shack, solder the pink wire that goes from the Display. Using the other spool, do the same to the pink sync wire that goes to the NAV. Route both wires to where the GEX Green and Red Connectors are. Connect the Nav Pink wire to the Red connector and the Display pink wire to the Green Connector.
Now you should have a total of 5 wires from the units infront to the GEX. You now have a total of 4 cables containing these wires.

CHeck this out, I think this is what we need to start:

Excellent find guys.. let see if we can get it to work..

Gee Im Fast.. i talked to the guys at Nav tv and they said that the 2005 have a " dual sync.. and that you need to tie in a resistor or something" dont know if it makes sense . i'll leave you in charge of that.. since im am no engineer..

The Sync is dual in a sense that it is composit (vertical + horizontal). This should be the same in 2004/2003.

BTW, the reason the GEX Pioneer works is that it has 4 cable out, it sends out RGB and composit sync, and takes in whatever you send it, so in essence it seperates the sync

The ground loop was my first assumption, but I kinda rule that out by disconnecting everthing expect for the sync wire and also using different isolated power supplys and found that as soon as contact is made between the two I get that interference like if the screen does not like the signal, what is strange is that I get the same with my modded xbox av cable, with the xbox being completelty isolated, I will work on that today if I can get it up and going I will post my results, theres only a few things I need to figure out, if you know of a better way to ground please post, maybe this is a quick fix

to answer your question no I did not use the scart cables, I built my own circuit and use only the signals needed from the xbox av output for video and audio.

He is right...this is nothing new. I just looked into it and realized that all the converters on the market right now only take a composite sync...meaning they cannot take separate syncs (horizontal and vertical). How do I know? There is only 1 sync wire!!!!

I'm thinkin circuitry or wiring for 05 changed in a way where we cannot isolate the ground loop problem....damnit.

What are your resolution settings in your xboxes that you have set? For example, did you leave it at 480i, or changed it to 480p, 720p, or 1080i? Would that make a difference in our LCD's??

Any progress for RGB -> '05 NAV display?

xrayminator & all,

Did you guys ever come up with a solution for getting an RGB signal from an XBOX into a '05 NAV display? I'm in the process of building an XBOX for my G35 and I'm looking to get the best video quality out of it.

I tried contacting GeneratorLabs about the NavBox but he's not making them anymore, and it sounds like they wouldn't work with the '05s anyway.

Although I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, I can usually do a decent job of soldering stuff together. Any info you guys might have would be great!

Thanks,
Arion
