LCD question?
To install the fm modulator you need to get to the back of the receiver. If you're going to do that you should get the PAC unit, assuming you don't use your sat button. The fm modulator sounds like crap.

which pac unit? and how hard is it to install? sorry for so many questions...just lost...
Pac unit for nissan/infiniti. It plugs into the back of your head unit and gives you 2 aux inputs you can access through your sat button. I think it was about $75 and more than worth it. 2 RCA inputs that go directly into your head unit. Much better sound than the fm modulator.
Installation is easy. Once you get to the back of your head unit you just unplug one harness and plug in another.

Ok what are you trying to do here? If you just want to run 2 rear monitors off a PS2, and have the sound come through your stereo, it's not too hard.
Obviously you need to run video from the PS2 to both monitors.
If you plan to use an FM modulator for the audio portion, there is nothing involved with the deck. Just connect the modulator to the PS2. You usually get them with 1/8" stereo jack inputs, so you'll just need an RCA to 1/8" female converter. You don't need to do anything with the stock deck but tune it to whatever station your FM modulator is transmitting on.
Hope that helps.

Both do the same exact thing and both terms technically can and are used interchanably. The only real benefit to installing a "Modulator" is that by hooking directly into the antenna, it can cut off the connection to the antenna when its transmitting and will feed a more powerful signal directly into the antenna with less interference. I find in reality though, modulators make little practical difference compared to a similar quality transmitter. In any case, your not going to get great sound. The PAC audio is definitly the quality way to go, but if you don't care that much, you might as well just go with a transmitter given the difficulty of removing the head unit.

A device referred to as strictly an "FM transmitter" on the other hand, does the same exact thing, but does not connect to the antenna, but rather just transmits on an open station.

where can i get one of these "fm transmitters"? man i feel like a noob...but thanks guys for all you insight!!!!
How many installs have you done before? If not much, I'd suggest just transmitting over FM. If you have done a few, obviously the PAC is the way to go. Hardwired will obviously produce better sound, but if you want cheap simple and dirty, get the transmitter. You can get one from just about anywhere. The ones with the 1/8" jack, you could use one from an Ipod. It doesn't really matter.
