Re: keyless entry range

Why do you want to open your door at 50 feet away ? lol

Maybe 10 to 15 feet but opening your door from 50 feet is kinda crazy....

I'd like to be able to lock it so when I at the store, I can turn around a press the lock to make sure it's locked. I also like to the lights flash. I guess I am very parinoid.<sp?>

No, not paranoid at all. Today I was half way to my building when I remembered I didn't lock my car. So I kept hitting the lock button and only when I got really close did it lock. That meant walking all the way to it and back IN THE DAMN RAIN.

Infiniti owes me.

Yeah I kinda wish it was a little better too. Plus if you lose your car in a parking lot the panic button comes in handy, well it would if you didn't have to be in the car to use it! Then again The G35c is kinda hard to lose in the croud :-)

Re: keyless entry range

50' is prolly well outside it's range bro. O/M says about 30' or so is max.
Strange thing someone discovered is that if you point the fob up under your chin and look at the car it greatly increases the distance the fob will work. Has something to do with your head acting like an antenna. Strange but true.

Re: keyless entry range

The range on both my remotes suck. I can only get about a 15' distance. I even tried to open the case and look for an antenae lead so I can solder a wire to maybe extend the length. It is a sealed unit and could not find the lead.

Re: keyless entry range

HOLY $#!+ IT WORKED

hahaha try holding it to your chin... When I left the office I did that and hit the panic button and it just started honking like crazy and I was about 40 to 60 feet. Damn I was REALLY skeptical until I gave it try =)

Re: keyless entry range

There are disadvantages to too long a range on the remotes. It's easy to accidently activate and open your door locks when you put your keys in your pocket (or purse) and later find your car open or worse, stuff gone! Hard to accidently have the remote under your chin when this happens .
It's is good that our doors lock automatically again after about a minute(?) if no door is opened when unlocked by remote though.

Re: keyless entry range

The chin "trick" works because your using your body as an antenna.
