Smile Which DVD is preferred?

This is a tough search so I'll ask in a new thread. Forgive me if it's been asked to the point of naseau. Those that have done the nav dvd mod. Which DVD unit did you purchase and why? I'm looking to get a model that will fit in the glove box like so many others havd done but I'm just trying to get a feel for the options I have. Any help will be appreciated.

i'm interested in this as well... I'm actually looking at a DVD and TV Tuner combo unit... brands I found are:

Pyle
Blaupunkt
Innovatek

Not sure which is good. The DVD/TV Tuner combo is typically $140 or more... any suggestions anyone have? I'm just basically looking for a slot loading DVD drive with a TV Tuner...

I went with FUMA (its the Exact same as Innovatek, but I didn't have a good experience with MP3 player.com) so I got mine from here...its the smallest of its kind (same as Innovatek since its Generic and companies just slap on thier logos)...and it didn't even fit into my glovebox...only PS2 slim will fit...

Oh and this has a TV tuner also...different styles to choose from and all are $109.00...not bad!

I have researched this thing to death and the Innovatek model is the same generic one as many others. All have same exact specs... Look on ebay and type in "DVD mp3 TV s-video player" or something to that affect and many come up. They range from like $70 bucks to $150 depending on which one...but like I said...they all seem to look the same (from the back view) and have the same exact features, which tell me some small foreign company makes it and sells it to many different no-name retailers. You can buy two or three of these generic ones for the price of a name brand one. So, I'll go that route and roll the 'ol dice on the generic one (with S-video...of course).

What I don't like, and Gee referenced this, is that, evidently, none of these, even the "compact" players, will fit the glove box...at least as it pertains to the 2005 glove box. I don't know if modding the glove box is feasible or not. I plan on buying one of these generic ones and see what my installer can do. I want it in the front cabin (within reach) and not in the trunk. I'll figure something out...If anyone out there has any ideas...let me know.

If none are going to mount IN the glove box then I might do the install UNDER it. I saw, on one of these treads, the player mounted under the arm rest. It looked sweet but I don't want to do too much cutting of that area. I think under the glove box is easiest. Side note, if I have the AV Electronic converter, do I need the PAC AAI-NIS or an FM modulator?

Here is a generic one for $59.99 (power seller). Same as all the others.

No they don't, only MP3player.com does..but they have the shadiest customer serivce ever. They will put you on hold 25 minutes before answering....no joke, then they will hang up. A bunch of kids running it.

I mean I was talkin to one dude on the phone and could hear him talking to someone else and he said "I'm ok, I only want an apple"....uhhmm ok? **** that, and 2 months of calls, emails and threat to call credit card company until I got a FULL refund.
