2 questions about double din install

If I don't have the premium package, the new AC controller is plug and play, correct? No need to solder LEDs and buttons off my original controller...

Any ideas for where to mount my Alpine IVA-D300's rather large "brain unit"?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: and oh yes, I foolishly did not order the dash pocket from J's Garage when I had the chance. Will any universal dash pocket work? Any recommended ones?
