J's Garage AC controller question

I just received my dash kit from J's garage and it appears that the AC controller does NOT support the dual temp button.

Am I missing something here? I hope I didn't throw away a couple hundred dollars.

You have to de-solder the button from your old unit, and solder it to your new one. I have seen directions before. The post in the FAQ points to a document over on g-owners, but it looks like that site is down right now.

Thanks for the input but that raises another question. If I use the button from my old controller, the colors won't match. The new controller has black buttons and my old one has silver buttons. Yoshi said that their AC controller only came with black buttons but I thought it would include all of them. That's what I get for assuming.

I don't like the idea of one silver button but I suppose I could say that I got it from the Lone Ranger.

Am I looking at a trip to the junk yard or can I buy a black button somewhere?

Maybe I'm beating a dead horse on this issue but now I'm really curious.

Here's the reply I got from Yoshi on the AC controller question:

Thank you for update information. The JDM AC controller does not support the dual temp control. Although there was a information of installing JDM double din dash kit on the G35/V35 Skyline forum, it seems that it has been removed...

Does this mean that soldering in my original dual temp button is only cosmetic?

Soldering the dual temp button will make dual temp work if your car is equipped with dual temp. I know since this is what I did and it works. You'll either have to live with the color difference or find one in the junkyard.

Thanks for the input.

I just wanted to keep the dual air option if possible so I should be good to go.

fXg35rIdA, is your reply a "BS" or an "I told you so"?

Anyway, thanks again. Maybe I just asked Yoshi the wrong question.

For the 2005, you will need to solder all of this...
