about to begin my DD conversion, and wondering if anybody had tried putting the XM antenna in the dash near where the OEM GPS antenna goes. I'm probably going to put my aftermarket GPS antenna there and was wondering if anybody had placed the XM antenna there. It should work if they both operate in the same manner right? Or does the XM antenna require a less unshielded view.

 

I placed my nav system GPS antenna where the stock GPS antenna is and its reception was significantly diminished from when it was on top of the car. I now have both my antennas mounted inside my spoiler and they work great and are invisible.

 

hmm.... i have no spoiler... but thanks... i guess that I will just have to experiment with different areas... back dash isn't such a great option because i have a metallic blend tint... maybe the corners of the front dash...

any other ideas
