My G35 is not a Premium Package car. Will I still have this wire?
Why does the Nav system need the speed of the car? Does it interpolate between satelite downloads to determine intermediate locations?
I am very new to Nav systems... as you can tell. Thanks for the info...

I really appreciate you posting these pictures! It is way better than I actually hoped.
Your install is tremendous... quite a nice setup. I'll bet it sounds wonderful.

Thanks...
Thanks...
As to commercial CD's, some of them come with CD Text information but it really is hit and miss. Most CD's don't even tell you if they have it or not on the cover. I would think that only very recent CD's have it.
Kind of the same applies to RDS (Radio Data System) which is artist, track and album information sent out by the radio stations and displayed on certain H/U's. I don't believe that the AVN5435 displays this information and there are only very few stations around that send it out anyways.
Hope this helped,
Mario

For example, the Hard disk to store up to 3000 songs. For one, the tracks get dowloaded to the HD in real time and two, I already have an mp3 player that I connected to the 5435 through an audio input and it has more than 3000 tracks. For those of us who don't have the CD's downloading tracks to the hard disk would be a problem.
The 5495 offers HD-based Navigation which I guess is nice because it's faster than reading it off a DVD like the 5435 but in our other car we have the Acura Navi (which IMO is the best available) and that one runs off a DVD. I am completely satisfied with the speed of the Navi on the 5435. Another thing to consider is Navi updates, and I am not sure how Eclipse will handle those on the 5495. I think that on the 5435 you will need to buy a new disk ($300-400 ouch).
The 5495 also has surround sound processing for DVD's but it was something I felt I could live without since I don't consider the car my main video watching environment.
And as of the time I bought it, the 5495 did not offer Sirius support, but I heard that was coming later in the year.
Hope this helped,
Mario
i have the 5435 also, but how do you do an MP3? I have downloaded from AOLmusic.com and I want to burn these tracks but how do you do it? I downloaded software for an MP3 player ( Sonique) . Any info would be great!
