has anyone replaced front 6.5 with components on bose system?
i was wondering if anyone has replaced their front speakers with components. if you have, how do they sound? the reason i ask is because i've been told not to replace the bose speakers with aftermarket speakers. i was told i'd have to replace the whole system. something about aftermarket speakers are'nt compatible with the bose premium system. is this true? someone please clarify this for me. thanks....

An HU pushing 50wx4 is probably pushing more like 12-25w RMSx4. You have to consider that the size of an aftermarket HU is nowhere near the size of an aftermarket 4channel amp...and that is for a reason. A seperate amp is much more efficient/powerful than an HU. HU's are usually way overrated, and often rated in peak power, not RMS.

I am going to upgrade the speakers soon. Here is what I'm planning to do:
Replace fronts with the Infiniti 6 1/2" component system (6010CS).
Replace the rear door speakers with the Infiniti 6 1/2" speakers (6012I).
Replace the rear sub, which I believe is only a 6x9 speaker, with a good reference Infiniti 6x9 speaker.
I want to keep the factory Bose head unit and the amp. Anyone has done something similar to this? Any opinions?
